Surah Al-Kahf (18:9–26) of the Quran describes the story of the people of the cave (Ashab al-Kahf), which describes devout young men who fled oppression from a pagan ruler to worship Allah alone. They took sanctuary in a cave, where Allah protected them by causing them to slumber for 309 years while their dog watched over the entrance.

A group of young men once refused to worship idols in a nation headed by a despotic monarch. They were terribly persecuted and had only faith in Allah. "Our Lord, grant us mercy and guide us," they prayed as they raced to a cave one night. (Quran 18:10).
Sleep's Miracle
For 309 years, Allah threw them into a profound slumber! Their devoted dog watched over the cave entrance, and their corpses never grew old. To shield them from the heat and cold, the sun's radiance changed (Quran 18:17).
Getting Up
They believed they had slept for a day or a portion of a day when they woke up. The villagers were shocked when one young person used old coins to purchase meals. The country now worshipped Allah, and the monarch had transformed!
Faith's Legacy
The might of Allah astounded the populace. The teenagers' narrative serves as a reminder that Allah rewards those who maintain their faith and that His protection is stronger than any fear.
Important Elements of the story of the people of the cave Narrative
The Cause: The young people resided in a city where idolatry was mandated by a despot (often called Decius or Diosius). The young Christians fled to preserve their beliefs because they would not succumb.
The Miracle of Sleep: According to Surah Kahf 18:25, Allah kept them safe for 309 years, or 300 years plus nine.
Divine Protection: The sun moved in a way that did not directly injure them; their eyes stayed open, and an angel rotated them from side to side to prevent decomposition.
The Dog: Numerous narratives mention the dog's company as it followed them and served as a guard at the entrance.
The Awakening: They thought they had only slept for a day or a portion of a day when they woke up. They were discovered after one of them was dispatched to the city to get food.

The Inscription
Although it seems like a question, Allah's statement, "Or have you deemed that the companions of the cave and the inscription were, among Our signs, a wonder?" is really a denial. Allah is emphasizing that since He is able to resurrect the dead, there shouldn't be any reason to be confused.
While the young men's 309-year slumber is not particularly amazing, it is only one of Allah's many signs.
Regarding the term "raqim" (inscription), some have claimed that the cave's inhabitants turned into a fiction or narrative. The town's residents engraved their names on an inscription and placed it at the cave's entrance. According to another account, it was the name of the dog that watched over the cave. Once more, we are unsure.
The most significant part of the tale is that, in their hour of greatest need, the Sleepers resorted to Allah Most High, who blessed them both in this life and the next. One who has nowhere else to turn but to Allah makes this dua, and it is answered.
Religion's Priority
The People of the Cave were so severely challenged in their faith that they were unable to continue living and practicing their faith. Every door was shut. People will be put to the test in their faith or religion, which is one of the Dajjal's sufferings.
These verses, this story of the people of the cave that Allah tells us, guide how and where to set priorities. As the scholars say, the most important thing is to preserve your religion.
It is your responsibility to find a way to follow your faith if you are unable to do so. You are not permitted to stay there any longer. You must go. You need to look for something else.

Throughout history, a large number of emigrants have fled in order to uphold their religious beliefs. For the same reason, Jews fled Andalusia and sought refuge solely in Muslim territories.
In a hadith, the Prophet, peace be upon him, states that the real muhajir, or emigrant, "is the one who emigrates from his sins." Stated differently, from one's own disobedience. It's a spiritual exodus.
For the sake of one's religion, it is to stop and set everything aside. And to run away to Allah for Allah's sake.
