Learn Quran Online in Auckland
What times work for Auckland students?
Most Auckland families choose early evening classes (around 5-8 PM NZT), which fall in our teachers' morning in Egypt. Weekend slots are popular too, since Auckland is 10-11 hours ahead of Egypt depending on daylight saving.
Is this only for families near central Auckland?
No — since classes are one-on-one over video, families in Manukau, West Auckland, the North Shore or further out join just as easily as those in the CBD.
My child is a complete beginner — is that a problem?
Not at all. Teachers start from wherever your child is, from the Arabic alphabet through to full Hifz, and adjust pace to the student rather than a fixed class curriculum.
Do you teach adults as well as children in Auckland?
Yes. We teach beginners of all ages, including parents learning alongside their children or starting their own Quran or Arabic journey for the first time.
Why do people say Egyptian teachers have a special recitation style?
Egypt has one of the world's most respected traditions of Quran recitation, known for a clear, expressive and deeply moving vocal style. Every Alhamd Academy teacher is a graduate of Al-Azhar University in Cairo and trained in this tradition — often exactly what families are looking for when choosing a teacher for their children.

- Auckland is home to roughly 40,000 Muslims, more than half of New Zealand's Muslim population, according to the 2023 Census — by far the country's largest Muslim community.

Honestly, I am impressed by how the teachers handle my kids. They make learning feel like play — my children actually ask for their Quran class every day.

What I appreciate most is that the teachers truly care. They celebrate every small milestone with you and always push you to keep going.

- Most Auckland families choose early evening classes (around 5-8 PM NZT), which fall in our teachers' morning in Egypt. Weekend slots are popular too, since Auckland is 10-11 hours ahead of Egypt depending on daylight saving.
- Classes are booked at a fixed weekly time you choose, over Zoom or Google Meet, using a shared digital Mushaf and whiteboard so both teacher and student see exactly the same text and corrections in real time. A typical session runs 30 to 60 minutes, and most Auckland families settle on two to three sessions a week — enough for steady progress without competing with homework, football practice or family time.
- Because every class is one-on-one, rescheduling around a work trip, a school holiday, or Ramadan's shifted routine is a message away, not a missed week of group instruction you have to catch up on alone.
