Learn Quran Online in Detroit
How do class times work for Detroit and Dearborn families?
Detroit is on Eastern Time, 7 hours behind Egypt. Most families book after-school classes between 4-9 PM EST, which line up with our teachers' late morning and afternoon in Egypt.
We already attend a local mosque or Islamic school — is this redundant?
Most Dearborn families use it alongside their mosque program, not instead of it. One-on-one weekday sessions let a child move at their own pace on memorization and Tajweed, which a full weekend class can't always give one-to-one.
Do you serve Dearborn Heights, Hamtramck and the wider suburbs, not just Dearborn itself?
Yes — since every class is online and one-on-one, location within metro Detroit makes no difference to how the lessons work.
What ages and levels do you teach?
From young children starting with Noorani Qaida through to adults pursuing a full Hifz or Ijazah program — each student gets a plan suited to their own level.
Why do people say Egyptian teachers have a special recitation style?
Egypt has one of the world's most respected traditions of Quran recitation, known for a clear, expressive and deeply moving vocal style. Every Alhamd Academy teacher is a graduate of Al-Azhar University in Cairo and trained in this tradition — often exactly what families are looking for when choosing a teacher for their children.

- Dearborn has the proportionally largest Muslim population of any city in the United States, and greater Detroit — including Hamtramck and Dearborn Heights — has one of the country's oldest and largest Arab and Muslim communities. With so many local mosques, weekend schools and community events already competing for families' time, online one-on-one classes offer a way to fit in consistent, personal Quran instruction without adding another drive across town.
- Dearborn alone is estimated to be around half Muslim, and metro Detroit as a whole is home to one of the largest and most established Muslim populations of any U.S. metropolitan area.

The one-on-one sessions made a huge difference in my Tajweed. My teacher patiently corrects every letter, and I genuinely feel myself improving week after week.

What I appreciate most is that the teachers truly care. They celebrate every small milestone with you and always push you to keep going.

- Detroit is on Eastern Time, 7 hours behind Egypt. Most families book after-school classes between 4-9 PM EST, which line up with our teachers' late morning and afternoon in Egypt.
- Classes are booked at a fixed weekly time you choose, over Zoom or Google Meet, using a shared digital Mushaf and whiteboard so both teacher and student see exactly the same text and corrections in real time. A typical session runs 30 to 60 minutes, and most Detroit families settle on two to three sessions a week — enough for steady progress without competing with homework, football practice or family time.
- Because every class is one-on-one, rescheduling around a work trip, a school holiday, or Ramadan's shifted routine is a message away, not a missed week of group instruction you have to catch up on alone.
