Learn Quran Online in Hamilton
What class times work best for Hamilton students?
Most Hamilton families book late afternoon to evening slots (4-8 PM ET), which fall during our Egypt-based teachers' late morning to afternoon. Weekend mornings work well too for busy weekday schedules.
We're in Stoney Creek / Ancaster / Dundas / Binbrook, not central Hamilton — does this still work?
Yes. Since classes are entirely online and one-on-one, families anywhere in Hamilton and the surrounding area join exactly the same way, with no drive across the city.
My child hasn't started learning Quran or Arabic at all yet — is that a problem?
Not at all. Teachers start from your child's actual level, from the Arabic alphabet and Noorani Qaida through to a full Hifz plan, and pace lessons to the student rather than a fixed group curriculum.
Do you teach adults Arabic and Islamic Studies, or only children's Quran classes?
Yes — we teach adults and reverts learning to read Quran for the first time, parents learning alongside their kids, and adults studying Arabic or Islamic Studies independently, all one-on-one with certified teachers.

Alhamd Academy connects Hamilton's Muslim families with certified Al-Azhar teachers for one-on-one Quran memorization (Hifz), Tajweed, Arabic and Islamic Studies classes. Hamilton's Muslim community has grown steadily for decades, but a qualified teacher who can commit to a fixed weekly slot is still hard to find locally — online, one-on-one lessons solve that without anyone leaving home.

- Hamilton's Muslim community is spread across the city — from Downtown and East Hamilton to Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas and Binbrook — served by community institutions like the Muslim Association of Hamilton. That spread means many families face a genuine choice between a long drive to a weekend class and no structured Quran or Arabic education at all, especially once a child's school and extracurricular schedule fills up.
- According to the 2021 Census, Muslims make up about 6.8% of Hamilton's population — roughly 38,000 people across the city, one of the larger Muslim communities in Southern Ontario outside the Greater Toronto Area. Online, one-on-one classes bring the same standard of Al-Azhar instruction found in Toronto directly into Hamilton homes, without the commute.

Honestly, I am impressed by how the teachers handle my kids. They make learning feel like play — my children actually ask for their Quran class every day.

Having a female teacher was so important to me. She feels like an older sister guiding me through my Hifz journey with love and patience.

- Hamilton runs on Eastern Time, about 7 hours behind our teachers in Egypt. An after-school slot between 4 and 8 PM lines up with the late morning and afternoon for your teacher — lessons happen when both sides are fresh, not rushed. Weekend mornings are a popular alternative for families who'd rather keep weekdays free.
- Every class is one-on-one over Zoom or Google Meet, using a shared digital Mushaf and whiteboard so teacher and student see the same text and correction in real time. Families choose the mix that fits: a structured Hifz memorization plan, focused Tajweed correction, Quranic and conversational Arabic, or Islamic Studies covering Aqeedah, Seerah and age-appropriate Fiqh — many combine two or three into one weekly plan. Most students take two to three 30-to-60-minute sessions a week.
- Because every class is one-on-one, rescheduling around a late shift, a snow day, or Ramadan's shifted routine is a message to your teacher, not a missed week of group instruction to make up alone.
