Learn Quran Online in Winnipeg
What class times suit Winnipeg families?
Winnipeg is on Central Time, 8 hours behind Egypt. Most families choose evening sessions from 4-9 PM CST, which correspond to our teachers' late morning and afternoon in Egypt.
Is this useful if my child already attends a local Islamic school?
Yes — many Winnipeg families use one-on-one online sessions during the week to reinforce and speed up what's covered at their weekend or evening Islamic school.
Do you serve families outside central Winnipeg?
Yes, anywhere in Manitoba — since classes are one-on-one over video call, distance from the city center makes no difference.
How does memorization (Hifz) progress get tracked?
Your teacher keeps a running record of what's been memorized and revised each week, so progress is visible and consistent rather than starting over each session.
Why do people say Egyptian teachers have a special recitation style?
Egypt has one of the world's most respected traditions of Quran recitation, known for a clear, expressive and deeply moving vocal style. Every Alhamd Academy teacher is a graduate of Al-Azhar University in Cairo and trained in this tradition — often exactly what families are looking for when choosing a teacher for their children.

- Winnipeg is home to a long-established and steadily growing Muslim community, anchored by mosques such as the Winnipeg Central Mosque and a number of newer Islamic centres across the city. Manitoba's long winters and a spread-out city layout make evening travel to a local class impractical for many families for much of the year, which is exactly where online one-on-one lessons fit in.
- Winnipeg's Muslim community has grown substantially over recent decades, supported today by several mosques and Islamic centres across the city.

Honestly, I am impressed by how the teachers handle my kids. They make learning feel like play — my children actually ask for their Quran class every day.

The personal attention here is unmatched. Teachers know each student's strengths and weaknesses and adapt their approach accordingly.

- Winnipeg is on Central Time, 8 hours behind Egypt. Most families choose evening sessions from 4-9 PM CST, which correspond to our teachers' late morning and afternoon in Egypt.
- Classes are booked at a fixed weekly time you choose, over Zoom or Google Meet, using a shared digital Mushaf and whiteboard so both teacher and student see exactly the same text and corrections in real time. A typical session runs 30 to 60 minutes, and most Winnipeg families settle on two to three sessions a week — enough for steady progress without competing with homework, football practice or family time.
- Because every class is one-on-one, rescheduling around a work trip, a school holiday, or Ramadan's shifted routine is a message away, not a missed week of group instruction you have to catch up on alone.
