Quranic Arabic Course Online
Do I need to already speak Arabic to take this course?
No. You need to already be able to read the Quran (Tajweed level doesn't matter much here). This course teaches Quranic Arabic specifically — you don't need conversational Arabic first, and conversational Arabic alone won't prepare you for this either.
How is this different from a regular Arabic course?
A general Arabic course teaches you to speak and read modern Arabic — ordering food, giving directions, reading a newspaper. This course only ever uses the Quran's own vocabulary and sentence patterns, so every lesson is directly useful for understanding the Quran, nothing else.
How long until I actually understand verses on my own?
Most students recognize enough root words to follow familiar, shorter Surahs within 4-6 months. Understanding longer, more complex Surahs independently takes longer and depends heavily on how much you review between sessions.
Is this the same as a Tafseer course?
No, and that's an important distinction. Tafseer is the scholarly interpretation of what a verse means. This course teaches you the Arabic itself — the words and grammar — which is what makes Tafseer study genuinely deep rather than something you're taking secondhand.
Can I request a female teacher?
Yes, the full curriculum is taught by our female teachers as well.

A translation tells you what a verse means in English. Quranic Arabic lets you see why it means that — the root word, the grammatical form, and the shade of meaning a translation can only approximate. This course teaches the specific Arabic the Quran actually uses, with a teacher explaining it live, not a click-to-translate tool.
- Recognize the Quran's most common root words on sight
- Follow the basic grammar of a Quranic sentence without translating first
- Understand why a translation says what it says, not just what it says
- Read familiar Surahs with a level of understanding no translation alone gives

Why Quranic Arabic Is Different From Conversational Arabic
How the Course Is Taught
- Everyday spoken Arabic and Quranic Arabic overlap, but they aren't the same target. Learning to order coffee in Cairo doesn't teach you why a single root word in Surah Al-Asr carries three layers of meaning. This course is built entirely around the Quran's own vocabulary and grammatical patterns — nothing conversational, nothing you won't actually encounter in the text.
- Most of the Quran's meaning is carried by a surprisingly small set of root words used again and again. Once you recognize roots instead of memorizing whole words, entire pages of the Quran start opening up at once — that recognition is the actual goal of this course, not vocabulary memorization for its own sake.
- A teacher matters here in a way a translation app can't replace: when a word carries two or three legitimate shades of meaning depending on context, a human teacher can explain which one applies in this verse and why — an app just picks one and moves on.

Ibrahim T.
I'd read English translations of the Quran for years. Learning the root words changed how I actually experience recitation — I catch meanings now that translations had flattened out.

I always assumed this required years of Arabic study first. My teacher started from where I actually was and I was reading real verses within weeks.

Who This Course Is For
- Grammar is taught only as it's needed to unlock a real verse — never as an abstract exercise disconnected from the Quran itself.
- Root-word recognition is drilled specifically, since a small set of roots accounts for a large share of the Quran's vocabulary — learn the root once, and you start recognizing it in verse after verse.
- Each session works through real verses together, translating word by word with your teacher before comparing it to a standard English translation — so you see exactly where a translation simplifies or interprets.
