Tajweed Course for Kids
What age can my child start Tajweed?
Age 6 is a common starting point, once a child can already recognize the Arabic alphabet. If your child hasn't started Arabic reading yet, Noorani Qaida is the right first step, with Tajweed layered in naturally as they progress.
How long are the sessions for young children?
20-25 minutes for ages 6-8. Younger children lose focus in longer sessions regardless of how engaging the teacher is, so we keep them short and frequent rather than long and infrequent.
My child gets distracted easily — will that be a problem?
It's the norm, not the exception, for this age group. Our teachers are trained to work with a child's real attention span rather than expect adult-level focus, and sessions are structured with that built in from the start.
Can I sit in on my child's lessons?
Absolutely, especially for younger children. Many parents join the first several sessions, then step back once their child is comfortable with the teacher.
Will my daughter be taught by a female teacher?
Yes, on request. We have female teachers specifically trained in children's Tajweed instruction.
Do you send progress updates?
Yes — specific updates naming which rules your child has mastered and which one comes next, not a generic 'doing well' note.

Tajweed rules taught to a 7-year-old need a completely different rhythm than the same rules taught to an adult — shorter focus windows, visual repetition, and constant small wins. Our children's Tajweed course is its own curriculum, not an adult course with the pace turned down.
- Recognize and apply Tajweed rules appropriate to their age
- Build genuine reading confidence, not memorized repetition
- Enjoy the learning process instead of dreading it
- Move smoothly into the next age band's curriculum as they grow

Tajweed Course for Kids
Why 'Tajweed for Kids' Has to Be Its Own Course
How We Teach Tajweed to Children
- A lot of academies teach children the exact same Tajweed material as adults, just more slowly. That approach quietly assumes a child's attention span is just a smaller version of an adult's — it isn't. A 7-year-old and a 13-year-old don't even learn the same way as each other, let alone as an adult.
- Our teachers split lessons by real age bands, not by a single 'kids' bucket: younger children get short, game-like sessions built around sound and repetition; older children move toward the same structured drilling an adult course uses, once their attention span can actually support it.
- Every teacher assigned to a child has been specifically trained for kids' classes — patience, visual teaching aids, and knowing when a child needs a five-minute break far more than a fifth repetition of the same rule.

Huda K.
My 7-year-old actually asks when her next Quran class is. The songs for the Tajweed rules stuck with her way better than I expected.

My 12-year-old was bored in his old kids' class because it felt too babyish for him. This teacher moved him into more structured lessons and he's actually engaged now.

Who This Course Is Built For
- Ages 6-8: Sessions run 20-25 minutes with heavy visual aids — color-coded letters, animated Tajweed marks, and short songs for rules like Ghunnah that are otherwise abstract to a young child.
- Ages 9-11: Sessions extend to 30 minutes with a mix of visual aids and the beginning of real reading drills, as attention span and reading fluency grow together.
- Ages 12-14: Sessions run closer to 40-45 minutes and start resembling an adult structure, since most children this age can sustain that focus — but the encouragement-first approach never disappears.
